Prime Minister May has just announced that she will be standing down as Leader of the Conservative Party effective 7th June and a New Leadership election to be started the following week.
Naturally she shall stay on as Prime Minister until that Leader is elected and her successor will automatically become Prime Minister in her place.
She admits that she has failed to persuade Parliament to agree a satisfactory BREXIT arrangement.
A number of Conservative candidates have already announced their interest in standing though currently Boris Johnson is seen as the favourite but this could change.
She cries as she leaves the podium with the words:
That it was the honour of her life “To have had the opportunity to serve the Country I love”.
