Greg,
In yesterday’s live webinar, when you were talking about the D-Day landings, you said that the Germans had no idea that the invasion was coming. An interesting fact that was released many years later was that MI5 used a double agent to notify the Germans where and when the landings would take place.
One of the main concerns of the allies…[Read more]

bumblethebard started the topic Crypto Scams in the forum Cryptocurrencies 5 years, 10 months ago
The recent video on crypto scams was timely. Some commenters thought you were saying that cryptocurrencies themselves were scams: it helps to be really clear. My experience with YouTube is that viewers don’t pay close attention to what is being said and/or have very low comprehension ability, so if there is any way to misunderstand what you are…[Read more]

I enjoyed the video on US dollar collapse, but wanted to make a longer comment than would fit on YT.
When talking about the value of a currency, it is important to distinguish between its value relative to other currencies, i.e. the exchange rate, and its purchasing power. I think it unlikely that the USD will fall against other currencies, since…[Read more]

If I were a betting man, I would bet that we will see a conflict with China. China is determined to take control of Taiwan. The last time China moved ships into the Taiwan strait and conducted missile tests was in 1995 and it provoked the Third Taiwan Strait Crisis. The USA moved additional ships into the area and China had to back down, which…[Read more]

We have lift off. Cryptos are now up more than 25% in three days. If this turns into a full-on frenzy like 2017, we could see another substantial run-up.

bumblethebard replied to the topic The Pricing of Gold in the forum Gold 5 years, 11 months ago
Trading gold intra-day using CFDs or by spread betting is super risky. I doubt many people make money from it. Personally I wouldn’t touch it, and that is coming from someone who occasionally buys gold mining juniors that lurch up and down like a drunken sailor.
Things that tend to be positive for the price of gold are:
Rising expectations of…[Read more] -

There is an interesting interview on last week’s Macro Voices. Jeff Snider talks about the Eurodollar system, which he claims is much more than just a quantity of USD held in foreign banks but an entire shadow money system that operates as a global reserve currency.
It is available on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVzKdqjtyhw?t=932 (I…[Read more]

The price of USD, as measured by DXY for example, and the price of gold as measured in USD will tend to move in opposite directions, but they do not always do so. Indeed, in recent months, I have come across at least two financial commentators recommending being long both USD and gold.
Probably the most important consideration is that USD and…[Read more]

Reports are that someone recently purchased $100 million worth of BTC: possibly a fund.
For those who would like exposure to cryptos without the fiddly aspects of managing wallets and keys, one option is to buy shares in cryptomining companies such as HIVE Blockchain Technologies (HIVE.TSXV). This company mines coins using a dedicated site in…[Read more]

bumblethebard started the topic Prospective central bank policies in the forum Economics/Finance – National & International 6 years ago
If, as many commentators are saying, there is a significant recession some time in the next two years, here are what I guess will be the measures the central banks are likely to implement, in increasing order of desperation.
1. Reduce interest rates to zero. Most central banks already have rates near zero, so this will only be effective for the…[Read more]

Dear IS, I have discovered that this section of the website (https://www.illuminatisilver.com/activity/) displays all forum posts and messages but is not protected by the login credentials. An interesting video interview with Andrew Maguire. Andrew sets high store by the fact that the Basel agreement that governs bank capital and solvency requirements is about to change. From April 1st 2019, gold becomes a tier one asset, which means that it counts towards bank reserves at 100% of its market value. Previously, gold was a tier three…[Read more]

Greg, your comment in the recent webinar about Greece being allowed to join the euro currency despite not meeting the criteria reminded of something I read nearly 15 years ago. I have a question about the pricing of gold that I hope our Illuminati masters might be able to shed light upon. The short version of the question is: why do we always think of gold as priced in USD? The longer version is as follows…
It is often said that “gold is priced in dollars” and that the price of gold varies inversely with the value of…[Read more]

I have definitely noticed a substantial increase in grocery prices over the last ten years: much more than the officially advertised rate of inflation. Partly because they may be paying index-linked pensions or benefits and they want to keep their costs down, partly because they don’t want…[Read more]
